things that interest me. Here are my items so far:
DJ Life.......
I started, professionally, at KZMU Community Radio in Moab, UT, U.S.A, and now play at any club that will let me. I specialize in Techno, EleKtroniKa, and Trance.
I use VirtualDJ software, a computerized version of a DJ station. Playlists are available at KZMU under the date and show name . That site also features live streaming.

Ever take a picture that moves you at the time, but when you see it back home it’s no more than a snapshot? This is because the eye sees with an interpreting brain, while a camera just takes everything at the same value. So I edit my pictures (B&W patches, Layering, etc) so that you get a more realistic idea of what I saw when I was taking the pictures. See 8 photos so treated, please email any comments via the link at the top of the page. These are small sample versions. Full photos are in the 5 megapixel range and make great 8x10’s and have great detail. I could be persuaded to sell them. There are also (usually) several variations available as well. The service to transform your photos to similar variations exists, contact me via the email link at the top of the page.
I lived in Naxos, Greece. Here are some pictures of Greece...
If you live in Naxos, or if you live somewhere in Greece, or even if you live in mainland Europe,…oh the hell with it…if you live anywhere on the planet Earth (other locations are also acceptable), and would like to hire me as a photographer, please email me with the specifics. If you like any of these pictures well enough that you can’t live with out a copy, I can be persuaded to sell them. They are in the 5 megapixel range which means they print out as great 8 x 10’s or larger!
Had an opportunity to visit Europe and Africa, Some Pictures...
Had an opportunity to visit Europe and Africa, Some Pictures...I’ve got tons more, you’ll just have to wait for me to visit so I can “slideshow” you.
The Terminator Dialogs: Arnold Schwarzenegger's lines in the Terminator Movies
Arnold Schwarzenegger quote: “No”. And more from Terminator, Terminator 2, and Terminator 3!
You get the spam mail about beneficent people who PLEAD with you to take their millions and help them out?
ShareWare Bar Dice Game, rather addictive
Addictive Bar Dice game. Learn it from my program, then buy six dice and play at your local meeting places. I’ve played this at bars and eateries from Stowe, Vermont, U.S.A., to Chora, Naxos, Greece and everyone agrees it is fun to play.
ShareWare Excuse and Fortune Generator
Tongue in cheek exuse generator. Get an excuse for something you didn’t do or messed up! Special Programmers excuses available too! Also get your fortune/prediction for any question you may have! Beta version free.
The Universe in Perspective: a freeware science book on the scale of the Universe.
A freeware science book on the scale of the Universe. Covers distances, sizes, the small ,the large, energy, time, and more. For instance: (1) How long would it take to drive a car to the Sun? How long if we went the speed of the Earth around the Sun (18 miles/second)? What if we went the speed of light? (2) About how many pounds of TNT does the average person "burn" each day? (3) How much pressure does sunlight exert on the Earth? How about starlight? 1). Answers: At 75 miles per hour it will take almost 142 years to travel to the Sun, at 18.5 miles per second it will take a bit more than 2 months, and at the speed of light the trip takes 8 1/3 minutes. 2). The average person uses around 2200 Calories a day which is equivalent to 4.4 pounds of TNT! In a year 25,000 people "sweat" the equivalent of the Hiroshima bomb. The difference in effect? It takes the people a year to release this quantity of energy, the atomic bomb releases it in millionths of a second. 3). The pressure exerted by sunlight on the Earth is 65,700 tons, by starlight only 4 2/3 ounces.
Utility for the Northern Right Whale Early Warning System.
My own, original system of Music Notation
Got tired of wrestling with traditional music notation so I made my own! Read about it here, free for personal use. Useful as Sheet Music Notation.

Me! : My name is Julius H. L. Schoen. I have a Master’s degree in Biology, emphasis in Entomology (study of Insects). Had been working as a software programmer for about 10 years, but up and quit! I just suddenly realized I wasn’t doing what I wanted to do, so I’m got back into Biology in the environmental/ecology area. I’m most recently worked in Utah through April-ish 2007 as a Bio Science Tech (sorting insects!), then an 8 week stint on the sea as a Marine Mammal Observer, then I moved to Europe where I now live. I’m extremely interested in photography, art, music (rock and electronic genres and music notation), and nature. I also do a LOT of pushups. Obsession? Naw. Here’s the email I sent when I hit 200,002 pushups. I’m now at around 245,000.
