I couldn’t help thinking, as I viewed this mosaic from the floor of a Roman gymnasium, did they have trouble with Athlete’s foot? |
Acropolis from across the Agora. It was quite hot that day. |
Statue from the Acropolis, Nose broken off, probably by one of Napoleon’s soldiers. |
More Acropolis statuary. It was hot in the museum too. |
Yeah, the Parthenon. Had to. |
Really neat temple on Aegina Island. They were a competing power with Athens in those days, and you could see the Acropolis from here. This was a “Yeah, Athens, check out our Temple” thing. |
Medieval fortress built on ancient ruins in Ancient Corinth. A serious hike to get up there. |
Little square in the ruins of Ancient Corinth. I could see myself 2000 years ago, relaxing with a myrhh. |
Ancient Mycenae gate. This is like 4000 or so years old. |

This is the temple ruins at Nemea. Hercules killed a lion here as one of his tasks. And late at night, you can still hear the lion howling with the wind… |
Built carefully stone by stone, these arches, built by Achilles and his men….oh wait. This is defunct hotel from the ‘70’s at Aliko beach on Naxos. |
